Meet The Team

~Race Team~

Adidas
Shark (D. Osmar) X Kazan (J. little)
Sex: Female/Spayed
DOB: 05/06/04
Team Position: RETIRED Lead/Anywhere
Adidas is an amazing athlete with a race history to prove it, She has run numerous 1,000 mile races with some impressive top 5 finishes including: Jeff King's 2nd place Iditarod, Jon Little's 3rd place Quest, and Zach Steer's 4th place Quest. In the winter of '10/'11 she was on Jake Berkowitz's winning CB300 team, and his 2nd place Sheep Mountain 150 and Kusko 300 team. She has also run many mid-distance races with Amanda as her go to lead dog. She is an incredibly driven lead dog who will turn on a dime; you will often find her at the front of the team. Adidas is by far one of the best dogs I have ever gotten the privilege of running and also one of the most stubborn. She is the mother of or related to the majority of the dogs on my team, and she has produced many excellent puppies that share her drive and determination, I am proud to call her the matriarch of my kennel. Adidas is currently knocking on the door of retirement at ten years old, but she isn't quite ready to hang up her harness. She completed several races with the race team last year including the challenging Copper Basin 300. This year she is taking it easier by not racing and merely running on training runs with the team, but not competing in any races.

Jackal
Nestor (J.King) X Inca (J.King)
Sex: Female/Spayed
DOB: June 2010
Team Position: Lead/Anywhere
Jackal is a firecracker of a dog, she is full of energy and drive and wants nothing more than to go, go, go. If she is moving forward she is happy. You will often find this little girl in the front of my team especially during races; she brings a lot of speed to the front end. Jackal isn’t afraid to tackle new challenges out on the trail. She is very smart, driven, and friendly, a pure delight to work with. Jackal is a key player in our race team, and I wouldn’t know what to do with out her some days.

Chaos
Hoho (A. Zirkle) X Mayhem (J. Hendricks)
Sex: Male/Neutered
DOB: 08/06/09
Team Position: Team/Wheel
Chaos' name fits him well, he is a very high-energy dog, always ready to run. He does everything with great enthusiasm whether it is running, eating, spending time with people or sleeping. Chaos is very easily one of my favorite most dependable dogs. His tug-line is always tight, he eats anything you give him and he is always ready to go.He is often the first one to start barking while I am preparing the team to leave a check point and will bark the entire time until we hit the trail, there is no sneaking out of check points with this boy around. Chaos is also very sweet, and when in the house he wants nothing more than to lie on the couch and get attention. While Chaos will run lead, he really thrives in wheel, he pulls like a draft horse and has learned to really work with the sled pulling harder in one direction or another in order to help keep the sled moving in the right direction. Wherever we go Chaos is coming with.

Gus
Mango (J. Garney) X Trunk (L. Mackey)
Sex: Male/Neutered
DOB: 10/21/10
Team Position: Wheel/Team
Gus is a real goof ball and very playful just like his sister Chupa, but as soon as you put a harness on this boy the playfulness stops and he gets down to business.  Gus is a very loving friendly dog and seems to find friends wherever he goes. Chupa and Gus tend to attract a lot of attention with their good looks and charming personalities, and they love every minute of it. Gus has really come into his own over the past season or two and has earned his spot as one of my most reliable race dogs.

 Chupacabra "Chupa"
Mango (J. Garney) X Trunk (L. Mackey)
Sex: Female/Spayed
DOB: 10/21/10
Team Position: Anywhere
Chupa is full of energy, a real dynamite sled dog. She is a joy to watch run, she is very smooth and even sexy as she moves down the trail. Chupa is a real goof ball in the yard she chases her tail, plays with sticks and leaves, and the dog next to her, but in harness all that goofiness goes away and she becomes a serious athlete full of drive and purpose. She has a tendency to become over bearing in harness because of her excitement and it can be a challenge to find another dog to put up with her, but she doesn't let this stop her. She runs just as happily alone as she does next to another dog.

 Tramp
Adidas x Solomon
DOB: 05/26/11
Sex: Male
Team Position:Lead / Anywhere
This handsome boy has really earned his kibble so to say. He has worked his way into the lead position on my team and I don't see that changing any time soon. He is a solid dependable boy who loves to work. Tramp has finished many races with me and is always a strong member of the team. I expect to see great things from this boy and he grows and gains experience.

  Jana
Adidas x Solomon
DOB: 05/26/11
Sex: Female/Spayed
Team Position: Lead/Anywhere
While Jana is one of the smallest dogs in the yard her eagerness to please and her determination make up for her small size. She is an incredibly sweet little girl who loves to cuddle, but put a harness on her and she becomes all business.  She is a smart one and catches on very quickly; she knows all of her commands and will often try to follow them from the swing position directly behind the leaders. Over the past season Jana has really bloomed and was one of my main leaders for the 2013/2014 race season. She led over both Rose Bud and Eagle Summit for me during the Yukon Quest 300 and is often found at the front of the team when I need a solid no nonsense commanding force up front. She has run every race with me over the past few winters  and I can't see the team and I starting or finishing a race with out her.

 Pirate
Adidas x Solomon
DOB: 05/26/11
Sex: Female
Team Position: Wheel/Team
Pirate is the largest of the female out of our Adidas and Solomon breeding, and is full of energy and drive. She is a larger female who is very strong, and I imagine if she could talk she would sound a little like the Arnold Schwarzenegger. Pirate is definitely  one of the key members of the race team. Time and time again she has proven herself to be one of the hardest working, solid, most dependable dogs on the team, and she has finished every race she has started. You can often find her still leaping into the air to go at the finish line of even the tougher races. Pirate is a dog I'd hate to leave home without.

 Matrix
Adidas x Solomon
DOB: 05/26/11
Sex: Female
Team Position: Lead/Anywhere
Matrix is one talented little girl, and reminds me very much of her mother Adidas. She is a very driven, self assured, somewhat stubborn little girl with a big attitude. Even though she is still young she has proven herself to be a natural lead dog and a talented race dog. She has spent a lot of time in lead both in races and training and is on her way to becoming one of my main lead dogs. She is very smart and catches on quickly during training, she knows her commands and isn’t afraid to charge down the trail. She will even bark at the dog next to her if she thinks they are not doing exactly what they are supposed to when it comes to turning. Keep an eye on this one she is going places.

 Drummer
Adidas x Solomon
DOB: 05/26/11
Sex: Female/Spayed
Team Position: Swing/Anywhere
Drummer like all her siblings is really excelling as a sled dog, a real asset to the team. Drummer is an incredibly sweet girl and is very attached to her sister Jana; you can often find them either sitting next to each other in the yard or playing together. On camping trips they often sleep side by side with Jana resting her head on Drummer, they will even share a food dish and clean each other’s faces after a meal. We often joke that they are one in the same. And like her sister Jana, Drummer has finished every race with me over the past few winters and I can not see the team and I crossing any start or finish lines with out her.

Charley
Adidas x Solomon
DOB: 05/26/11
Sex: Male
Team Position: Team
Charley is such a nice dog, very sweet and gentle, and just a fun guy to have around. He is probably the calmest of the six pups, which is good since he is the biggest. Charley is a powerhouse in harness. He has proven himself to be a dependable sled dog that works well next to any of the other dogs and you can always depend on him to do his job.  He is the type of dog that every musher loves because he always does his job and never causes any problems, I feel fortunate to have him on my team.

Rockwell
Sparta x Chaos
DOB: 05-23-12
Sex: Male/Neutered
Team Position: Anywhere
Rockwell like both of his parents is a very driven dog who just loves to go down the trail. There is definitely no lack of enthusiasm where this boy is concerned. Rockwell is a sweet boy who Seems to hold nothing back. He works incredibly hard and is always rearing to go. At two years old he has already proven to me that he has what it takes to finish a 200+ mile race and is currently in training to be a lead dog.

Strange
Sparta x Chaos
DOB: 05-23-12
Sex: Female/Spayed
Team Position: Leader in Training/Anywhere
Strange is well honestly a little strange. I have to admit the first time I ran this dog I wasn't exactly impressed, but boy am I glad I gave her a chance. Finishing over 1000 miles of races with me this past winter as one of my main dogs and being younger than two years old is quite the accomplishment. Strange has proven her self to be a confident,  tough, hard working, and dependable sled dog that doesn't know the word quit. I couldn't be more happy with her. She is showing promise as a lead dog and currently training to become one. This little strange red dog is going places and I am proud to have her on my team.
